What is Blueface’s net worth?
Blueface, an American rapper and songwriter, boasts a net worth of $4 million. He became a viral sensation in 2018 following the release of his music video for “Respect My Crypn.” As of this writing, his 2019 single “Thotiana,” featuring Cardi B and YG, stands as his most successful track, landing at #8 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Legal Issues & $13 Million Las Vegas Lawsuit
Blueface has encountered numerous legal problems. In late 2018, he was involved in an incident at a gas station where a man attempted to rob him; he shot at the assailant’s vehicle, resulting in his arrest and a felony charge for shooting at an occupied vehicle. He was soon released on bail. In early 2019, he was arrested yet again, this time for possession of a firearm in a felony context.
In October 2022, while in Las Vegas, Nevada, Blueface was arrested on charges related to attempted murder and shooting. He was detained at Clark County Detention Center and ultimately reached a plea deal, agreeing to a three-year probation period. Should he face any further legal issues during that time, a 2-5 year prison sentence would be imposed automatically.
This shooting took place at Euphoric Gentlemen’s Club in Las Vegas. After being forced to close the club due to the incident, its owner filed a lawsuit against Blueface for loss of revenue. On October 23, 2023, the court granted a $13 million judgment to the club owner, officially ordering Blueface to pay $13,072,482. This amount comprised $12.6 million for lost revenue, $200,000 in “lease damages,” and $84,000 in employee-related expenses. Blueface did not contest the lawsuit in court nor did he have legal representation. Without any payments toward the damages made by January 2024, Blueface’s debt had escalated to $14 million due to accumulating interest and penalties.
In mid-January 2024, he found himself arrested again for breaching his probation linked to an assault case from 2021 that occurred in the San Fernando Valley.
Early Life
Born as Jonathan Michael Porter on January 20, 1997, in Los Angeles, California, Blueface initially lived with his mother in Santa Clarita Valley before relocating to Oakland with his father. Upon returning to the Los Angeles area, he attended Arleta High School, where he participated in the marching band and served as the starting quarterback for the school football team. In 2014, he led his team to the East Valley League championship. Blueface later played football at Fayetteville State University in North Carolina but departed from the school in 2016.
Viral Breakthroughs
Beginning his rap career under the name “Blueface Bleedem” in January 2017, the moniker referenced the School Yard Crips street gang. According to legend, his discovery occurred when he was invited to a friend’s recording session to retrieve a phone charger. While at the studio, he engaged in a rap battle, resulting in the creation of “Deadlocs,” which was uploaded to SoundCloud and garnered a modest audience.
Success
In June 2018, now known simply as “Blueface,” he released his debut album titled “Famous Cryp.” The newly titled “Dead Locs” contributed to the album’s rising popularity throughout Southern California, which also showcased the original version of his single “Thotiana.”
That same year, Blueface became an internet sensation with the music video for “Respect My Cryppin’,” highlighting his unique rapping style and his association with the Crips street gang. This surge in visibility led to increased recognition for more of his music, including “Next”…
Blueface gained further recognition with hits like “Big Thing” and “Thotiana.” His fame escalated when he organized an Instagram contest to choose a Los Angeles area high school to visit, ultimately selecting Pasadena High School as the winner. At the close of 2018, he once again went viral by previewing his track “Bleed It” online.
In 2018, Blueface signed with Cash Money West, the West Coast division of the Cash Money Records label founded by rapper Birdman.
Throughout 2019, Blueface’s popularity consistently grew. He achieved his first Billboard Hot 100-charting song with “Thotiana” early in that year, which was later remixed featuring Cardi B and YG, climbing to number eight on the chart. In 2019, he also released the music video for his single “Stop Cappin,” which garnered over five million views within just four days on YouTube. Following this, Blueface dropped his eight-track EP “Dirt Bag,” which included contributions from artists like Rich the Kid, Lil Pump, and Offset.
March 2020 saw the release of Blueface’s debut studio album, “Find the Beat.” The album hosts guest appearances by artists such as Polo G, Gunna, Jeremih, DaBaby, and YBN Nahmir and features the singles “Close Up,” “First Class,” “Obama,” and “Holy Moly.” “Find the Beat” reached number 64 on the Billboard 200 and climbed to number 39 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.
Blueface has also showcased his talents as a featured artist on numerous tracks. In 2019, he collaborated on French Montana’s “Slide,” the remix of NLE Choppa’s “Shotta Flow,” and Farid Bang’s “FULU$.” The following year, he made guest appearances on DDG’s “Moonwalking in Calabasas” remix and 1TakeJay’s “Proud of U” remix.
Boxing Career
In addition to his music career, Blueface has taken up amateur boxing. His boxing debut occurred in the summer of 2021 against TikTok star Kane Trujillo, where he competed on the undercard at Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship 19: VanZant vs. Ostovich. Blueface secured a unanimous decision victory over Trujillo. However, after facing removal from two exhibition matches in 2022 due to alleged domestic abuse, he was set to face TikTok star Ed Mathews in a match scheduled for London in 2023.
Personal Life
Blueface shares a son named Javaughn and a daughter named Journey with his ex-girlfriend, social media influencer Jaidyn Alexis. The name of his son is tattooed on his right arm. In 2020, Alexis damaged Blueface’s car and personal belongings when she discovered his infidelity. Later, Blueface’s car was reportedly stolen by his new girlfriend, Chrisean Rock.
Real Estate
January 2020 saw Blueface purchase a home in Chatsworth, California, for $1.22 million. During his time there, he painted the exterior in a blue and white camouflage pattern. He sold the home in August 2023 for $1.353 million. Prior to his acquisition, the previous owners had decorated and themed the house as a “Star Wars Getaway.” The former Star Wars-themed design can be viewed in the following video tour:
